Stroll through the village to admire its distinctive architecture, where brick and flint fishermen's houses stand side by side with the seaside villas of Parisian families who came to settle in Etretat after the opening of the Casino on the seafront in 1852 and the inauguration of the Paris-Etretat railway line in 1895, closed in 1972.
Etretat became a holiday resort and an inexhaustible source of inspiration for many artists, including Guy de Maupassant, Claude Monet, Eugène Boudin, Gustave Courbet, Jacques Offenbach, Alphonse Karr and Alexandre Dumas, etc.
